Champions League, Wednesday, 27.11.2024 at 21:00
Ahead of the start of the fifth Champions League matchday, Celtic and Bruges are in a place that is enough for the intermediate round, but the points cushion is small and in the direct clash everything suggests that we will see two teams playing for victory.
Celtic will go into their penultimate home game and Brugge’s remaining program only gets tougher with Man City, Juventus and Sporting Lisbon.
It didn’t take me long to work out the perfect odds for me here. The goal of both teams at 1.55 odds from the Intertops app is my Celtic Glasgow Bruges betting tip.
An away game at Celtic Park is feared and this Champions League season confirms that respect once again. Glasgow have won both of their home games in the top flight, a 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava and most recently a 3-1 win over Leipzig.
I’ve already written a prediction for the game against the Red Bulls, where I also had the goal of both teams in my sights and was right in the end. True to the motto “Never change a running sports bet”, I’m once again choosing the BTS odds:
The bookmaker forecast
I didn’t think I’d find odds below the 2.00 mark in the match outcome market for this pairing. However, Celtic’s 2.02 at Betano is just over that.
Given the fact that Glasgow have won both home games, the odds don’t sound bad to begin with. But Bruges winning a point is just as conceivable for me, the draw is at 3.70, the away win at 3.50.
The most lucrative for me is the double chance X2 at 1.83, which would cover two outcomes in a match that is likely to be very close.
KI prediction Celtic Glasgow – Bruges: ChatGPT
We asked the AI for three tips with different risk levels and odds and ChatGPT also prefers to avoid the 1X2 at low risk and focuses on the over 2.5 goals.
Since I have the goal of both teams, which requires two goals, I think the bet is definitely not bad and is slightly higher at 1.62. However, I feel more comfortable with my odds, the 1:1 is a fairly likely result for me, which I want to secure.
Ultimately, the AI also knows that we’ve already had a few games between Celtic and Bruges this season in which there were higher results with only one team scoring. However, I don’t expect one-sidedness on Wednesday.
Goals are also required by the artificial intelligence for the medium-risk bet. Here it pulls the bet out of the hat that Celtic will score a goal in each half.
The Scots have already managed this in their first two Champions League home games. However, the goal from both teams is part of ChatGPT’s high-risk bet, as an addition to the Celtic win. Here we are just above the 3.00.
Analysis: Celtic Glasgow vs. Bruges
In the Champions League, Celtic took a draw from Bergamo in addition to their successes at home, but FC got away well against Atalanta, the Italians dominated but were unable to convert their chances.
The defense worked quite differently against Dortmund. BVB suffered a heavy 1:7 defeat, a slip-up in an otherwise strong Champions League season with seven out of a possible twelve points after four games.
Bruges have one less, the Belgians have also played against Dortmund, did better, had opportunities to take the lead themselves, but were dominated in the final phase and lost 3:0.
The second defeat was against Milan, 3:1. The two victories were secured at Sturm Graz and against Aston Villa, both 1-0, but I highly doubt that they will be able to keep a clean sheet at Celtic Park..
Ratings analysis
Milan, BVB, Aston Villa, none of the top teams really managed to break down Brugge’s defense. With an average of 1.28 goals conceded, Bruges have a good record in the Champions League.
Celtic, on the other hand, are far behind in this ranking. In terms of their own expected goals value, both teams are de facto on a par, 1.37 to 1.34 per Celtic. The Scots are much more efficient, scoring nine goals, three times as many as Bruges.
Due to the remaining program of the teams and the expected course of the game, a merger of the goal of both teams with over 2.5 goals could also be considered.
The Betano Bet Builder offers 1.88 odds. At Betano, new customers also receive a 20 euro free bet before making their first deposit.
Celtic Glasgow vs Bruges odds: Result pressure for both teams
No points are likely to be taken against Man City, nor will it be easy against Juventus and Sporting Lisbon, a club that has started the season so strongly. Bruges will go to any lengths to get a point in Glasgow.
Celtic’s other opponents, on the other hand, are not quite as prestigious: Zagreb and Bern. However, like Bruges, they also have a tough away game against a Premier League club, Aston Villa.
In addition, after Wednesday there is only one match left at home. The pressure to score should force an interesting game, especially in the second 45 minutes, which is why the 1.82 for over 1.5 goals in the second half is not bad either.
How are the teams doing in the league?
In the Scottish Premiership, Celtic have everything under control, having won eleven of their twelve games and drawn 2-2 with their closest rivals Aberdeen. In total, they have conceded just four goals and scored 35, the clear top figures.
The team, which has only lost one competitive game, is now on a six-game winning streak. In the league, the Celts recently celebrated a 2-0 win over Kilmarnrock and a 4-1 victory over Hearts after the international break.
Bruges have not had it so easy, but there are far more competitive teams across the board in Belgium. They are currently in second place, six points behind Genk.
However, Brugge are getting better and better in the league, collecting 13 out of a possible 15 points in recent weeks, only losing 2-2 against Beerschot.
Since mid-September, Brugge have only lost to Milan in the top flight. At the weekend, Bruges bounced back with a 7-0 win against St. Truiden.
In terms of injuries, Celtic have a slight advantage, both are ultimately missing a central striker and the visitors’ full-back line is a little thin. Bruges and Celtic will be meeting for the first time.
My Celtic Glasgow Bruges betting tip:
My monitors will be on fire again when the Champions League is on. I’m keeping a close eye on the match between Celtic and Bruges, as it will be one of the most interesting on Wednesday purely in terms of the starting position.
Based on the next few matches, both teams will want to come away with points. The second 45 minutes at the latest will be when it’s all to play for, which is why I find over 1.5 goals in the second half very interesting.
Overall, I expect a close game, in terms of play I see the teams at a similar level, as the bookmakers still see Celtic slightly ahead with the home advantage. However, I am primarily convinced that both teams will score a goal here.
Glasgow have won both CL home games so far, but not without conceding a goal…
My Celtic Glasgow Bruges prediction: Both teams will score!
