Diego Demme declared his active career over late on Wednesday evening. In a long Instagram statement, the former midfielder thanked his companions and clubs. His CV includes 105 Bundesliga and 161 second division appearances as well as 67 in Serie A for SSC Napoli. The former Bielefeld, Paderborn, Leipzig and Hertha player celebrated his greatest successes in Italy, where he won the championship and cup with Napoli.
