Third division club Energie Cottbus have extended the contract with coach Claus-Dieter Wollitz, who also acts as sporting director, beyond the summer. The Lusatians made the announcement on Friday evening. Originally, there was talk of the 59-year-old only acting as sporting director from the summer of 2025, but this idea has now been scrapped. “I’m passionate about this job, I’m passionate about our club, and that’s why we’ll continue as a cohesive unit in the coming season,” said Wollitz, who is currently in second place in the table with Energie and can even dream of promotion.
