The Ligue 1 title is already wrapped up after 24 rounds, and that’s exactly what the experts expected! Paris St. Germain are – as predicted – unstoppable and are still unbeaten at the top.
On Saturday, the Stars travel to one of their most feared opponents of recent years, at least as far as away games are concerned.
So in my Rennes PSG betting tip, I’ll tell you why I’ve landed on BTS for this match.
Paris St. Germain’s domestic season so far is actually easy to explain: 19 wins, five draws, the only team without a defeat, plus 66 goals and 23 goals conceded? Top marks in all categories!
They have a 13-point lead over their closest rivals Marseille, so under normal circumstances nothing should go wrong here. However, there is one absolute luxury problem: they have never won more than five in a row.
Of course, the competition can only smile wearily at this. The French are currently on a run of five wins, so they could now secure a new record. 5:2, 4:1, 1:0, 3:2 and 4:1, the majority of the victories were definitely high-scoring.
Ultimately, Paris will decide for themselves whether they win with efficient performances or whether they give their opponents no room to breathe. They have conceded goals in nine of their last ten league games – there they are again, the luxury problems.
In 13 games, the Parisians have conceded exactly one goal. Interwetten could have the right bet for you here. Here you can bet that Rennes will score exactly once on Saturday. You can expect odds of 2.40.
It doesn’t really matter whether PSG are playing away or at home. But I definitely have to mention this: In the last six away games, the Parisians have only managed two goals in the first half – after the break, on the other hand, there have been 13 in this period!
A slightly riskier bet here would be that PSG won’t score in the first half on Saturday. The odds at Betano are a strong 2.30, and the Betano bonus could also be lucrative for you here.
I have to mention Ousmane Dembele at this point. The former Dortmund player has scored 13 goals in the last nine games, which is definitely something to be proud of! The corresponding goal bet brings you odds of 2.10 at Betano.
Incidentally, Paris won 3:1 against Rennes in the first half of the season, but word has probably gotten around in the French capital that Roazhon Park has not always been the best place to play in recent years.
The team has failed to win here four times in a row, with another success only coming in October 2023. What’s more, the French champions have not managed to win against Rennes in ten matches.
The odds at our tax-free betting providers don’t seem to want to know anything about a surprise, however, as they see PSG clearly ahead with average odds of 1.60 to 5.20.
Stade Rennes have regularly been among the frontrunners in recent years, but 2024/25 has been relatively modest so far. The Black & Reds are eleventh and have only drawn twice, which is very noticeable.
On the other hand, they have already suffered 13 defeats – only the three teams in last place can top that. However, Rennes seem to be slowly but surely stabilizing and have won four of their last five games.
Well, no big names have been beaten with Strasbourg, Montpellier, Reims and St. Etienne and the match against Lille was lost 0:2 in between, but the upward trend is clearly visible.
Seven of the nine victories, also important to mention, were won in their own stadium. All seven of these victories, please note, were won by zero – if that were to happen on Saturday, the odds at Betano would be a high 8.00!
But be careful, Paris: two of the last three away games against Rennes have already been lost without scoring a goal. Have Rennes already beaten a team from the current top five this season?
1:2 against Marseille, 1:3 against PSG in the first half of the season, 2:3 against Nice, 0:1 and 0:2 against Lille? No, it really doesn’t look good ahead of the clash with the league leaders!
Paris St. Germain usually decide on their own how big games are won! The unbeaten league leaders have everything under control, and I’ve had nothing to criticize away from home either.
Rennes have not exactly been a favorite opponent in recent years, especially away from home. The Black & Reds are usually unable to keep up with the best teams in France, but have already won seven home games.
All in all, I assume that the stars from the capital will have quite a fight on their hands, as they often concede a goal. My tip is therefore:
