Leonie Maier will hang up her soccer boots at the end of the season. The 79-time international has played for TSG Hoffenheim since the summer of 2023, but can look back on a very unsatisfactory final season of her career. The 31-year-old left-back watched more than she actively helped out on the pitch, partly due to a number of injuries. “The amount of injuries kept slowing me down and unfortunately made playing soccer at the top level no longer possible,” says Maier.
