Frankfurt – Union Berlin betting tip, AI prediction & odds 09.03.2025

Bundesliga 25th matchday, Sunday, 09.03.2025 at 15:30

Madness! Frankfurt really did it and beat Ajax in Amsterdam – a real coup! But now it’s time to rest: Don’t rest, because the next must-win must come.

Union Berlin are currently staggering through the league and have developed from former European Cup contenders to relegation candidates. A perfect opponent for Eintracht to continue to build up their confidence.

But beware: The Köpenickers will not surrender without a fight. Every point counts for them to stop their free fall. Can Frankfurt take the momentum from Europe with them and plunge Union further into crisis?

My Frankfurt Union Berlin betting tip could provide the answer to this question in advance!

Union visiting Deutsche Bank Park? That usually doesn’t end well! The betting providers know that too!

Eintracht Frankfurt have only lost one of their nine competitive matches at home to the “Iron” (5 wins, 3 draws) – that was in their first Bundesliga home match in February 2020 (1:2).

Since then, there have been four wins and one draw, and most recently, SGE have kept three clean sheets in a row. The Köpenickers therefore face a real challenge:

The bookmakers’ prediction:

The bookmakers see Eintracht as the clear favorites against Union Berlin with odds of 1.75.

The visitors from the capital, on the other hand, are rated as almost blatant underdogs with high odds of 4.30, while a draw also seems rather unlikely at 4.10.

These Frankfurt Union Berlin odds thus make it clear that the Hessians are rated as significantly stronger, especially after their convincing victory over Ajax in the Europa League round of 16.

AI prediction Frankfurt vs Union Berlin: ChatGPT

The Frankfurt Union Berlin AI prediction from ChatGPT provides some exciting suggestions, some of which I have adopted and backed with a free bet without deposit.

For the high risk, “2:1 for Frankfurt” is suggested. A really nice result tip that speaks from my soul – and the odds are also impressive. I have nothing more to add:

For a promising bet with medium risk, the AI recommends “Hugo Ekitiké scores”. If Frankfurt actually score at least twice, then the unerring Frenchman should score at least one of them. Sounds plausible!

Finally, “Over 2.5 goals” is mentioned for a safe bet. However, I would rather reject this tip due to the low odds.

Analysis: Frankfurt vs Union Berlin

Eintracht Frankfurt are in a difficult phase. After a strong start to the season, there has only been one win in six Bundesliga games (3 draws, 2 defeats), including clear defeats against Bayern (0:4) and Leverkusen (1:4). This puts Champions League qualification in jeopardy.

At least the aforementioned 2:1 away win at Ajax in the Europa League provides a bit of a boost. In addition, the strong home record against Union Berlin, which has also been mentioned, speaks in favor of the Hessians, who have not conceded a goal in their last three home duels.

Union Berlin, on the other hand, are coming off three defeats in a row and have an appalling overall record of just 23 points from 24 games. The 1-0 defeat to Holstein Kiel was a low point, as was the 6-0 loss in Dortmund – the highest Bundesliga defeat in the club’s history.

Coach Steffen Baumgart, who has achieved strong results against Frankfurt so far (3 wins, 3 draws, 1 defeat), could offer some hope. However, given their current form, it will be difficult to get anything worthwhile in Frankfurt.

Rating Analysis

The tip “1st goal Ekitike at 4.55” is actually very tempting. The Frenchman has the potential to score the 1:0 in this match, especially if Eintracht start with a lot of effort and he is in good form.

“SGE to score a goal in both halves at 2.45” also sounds exciting.

If Eintracht can dominate the game for the whole time, especially if the Ironmen are not so present in the first half, this tip is quite realistic and could therefore actually yield a good return.

Frankfurt vs. Union Berlin: FCU only dangerous at corners?

It is actually clear that if Union Berlin scores, the goal will most likely be scored with a header after a corner!

Why? Quite simply because the Köpenickers are an absolute force in set-piece situations. A whopping 25% of their Bundesliga goals to date (5 out of 20) have come from corners – no other team scores as many goals in this way.

And as if that wasn’t enough to suggest a dangerous weapon, Union face a Frankfurt team that has its weak point in precisely this area. Eintracht have already conceded eight goals from corners, the second-worst figure in the league.

The only team that is even more vulnerable in this area? Wolfsburg with ten goals conceded. Union, on the other hand, defend these set-pieces almost flawlessly – only conceding one goal from a corner kick this season. So if a goal is scored for the Berliners, it will probably be in exactly this way!

Frankfurt will miss Skhiri!

It is of course a bitter loss for Eintracht Frankfurt that Ellyes Skhiri will not be there due to a yellow card suspension.

The Tunisian is an absolute workhorse in midfield and leads the Bundesliga in kilometers run per 90 minutes with an impressive 12.9 – and that with at least 1000 minutes played.

Since his arrival at the start of pre-season, Frankfurt have achieved an impressive 42% win rate in the Bundesliga with Skhiri (20 wins from 48 games).

Without him, however, that rate drops to just 30% (3 from 10). It will be exciting to see how SGE will fare without their engine in midfield.

Luckily for Frankfurt, however, there is Hugo Ekitiké up front to keep things interesting. The striker recently scored his 13th goal in the Bundesliga and has already scored five goals in the second half of the season – only Serhou Guirassy has netted more often in this time (7 goals).

Ekitiké also leads the league in the second half of the season with the most shots (36), shots on goal (18) and the highest expected goals (7.1 xG).

He is therefore obviously in excellent form and will certainly do everything he can to lead Eintracht’s offense to success, despite the absence of Skhiri.

My Frankfurt Union Berlin tip:

The SGE impressed me recently against Ajax and should record a commanding 2-0 victory. Eintracht is sufficiently well positioned and will control the game sooner or later.

Union Berlin will be able to hold their own at times, but they lack the offensive punch to really pose a threat.

My Frankfurt Union Berlin tip: Half-time/final score 1/1
