NFL 2024/25: Giants – Colts

There are still some stragglers who want to get into the race for the NFL Playoffs 2024, even if even many experts don’t really seem to have them on their radar anymore.

According to my Giants Colts prediction, the visitors will nevertheless seize their chance. The NYG have very little to offer and should break under the pressure of their opponent’s running game as easily as a fresh Christmas cookie straight out of the oven.

The Colts and Giants bring completely contrasting conditions to this clash in NFL Week 17. Indianapolis, currently with a 7-8 record, still has an outside chance of making the playoffs despite a mixed season.

To do so, however, they must win against the Giants, who are 2-13. For you bettors, it should be clear that nothing is at stake for the “G-Men” except perhaps securing the No. 1 pick in the upcoming 2025 NFL Draft.

The Giants have lost all of their last ten games and show little sign of improvement. What do you think: Will this negative streak continue – or will they surprise us here?

A look at the Colts shows that they have regularly delivered against weaker teams this season. As you may know, six of their seven wins have come against teams with a negative record – which speaks volumes for them!

Jonathan Taylor was particularly strong, putting in a monster performance last week against the Broncos: 218 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 29 carries.

Not only did he make up for the mistakes he made in Week 15, but he also put in his second 200-yard performance of the season.

Against a Giants defense that is falling apart against the run, Taylor could once again play a pivotal role.

The hosts’ defense has allowed the second-most runs of 10+ yards this season and ranks dead last in the league in expected rushing yards allowed with +429 yards. Perfect setup for Taylor, or what do you think?

On the flip side, there are few positives to report for the Giants. At least their pass defense is solid – it ranks seventh in the league.

But let’s be honest: That’s largely because opponents simply don’t have to throw much because they’re so successful with the run. The Colts know this and have adjusted their gameplan accordingly.

Because Anthony Richardson, their young quarterback, threw just 11 passes last week against the Titans. Instead, they relied entirely on the run game – and that’s exactly what they’ll do this time around.

Richardson himself is also dangerous, having scored a rushing touchdown in each of the last three games. He could shine again against a Giants defense that has a hard time keeping mobile quarterbacks in check.

An interesting fact for you betting enthusiasts: The last four meetings between these two teams have all ended with a score higher than the “total.” That suggests there could be some decent action here again.

The Colts have also gone over the total in five of their last six games, which also suggests that they should not be stingy with touchdowns on Sunday.

Combine that with the expected dominance of Taylor and the danger posed by Richardson, and an “Over” bet seems more than reasonable.

For more attractive odds, you can also bet that both Taylor and Richardson will find the end zone. Richardson in particular could surprise you with his recent consistent rushing touchdowns and give you better odds for your combination bet.

Specifically, I would suggest that you use the Oddset free bet to place a bet with the same bookmaker at odds of currently 5.00 on Jonathan Taylor scoring the first touchdown of the game.

If you’re already passing the bet on to the bookmaker, you can take a slightly higher risk with your Giants Colts bet, don’t you think?

In the end, it remains to be said: The Colts have all the means to hold their own against these Giants, who reveal so many weaknesses. The only question is whether they can consistently execute their gameplan.

But the way Jonathan Taylor performed last week, I’m not worried about that.

It’ll be enough to consistently execute their running game and hand the Giants, whose heads are already in offseason mode, their eleventh straight loss.

My Giants Colts tip: Win Indianapolis & Taylor with TD.
