According to consistent media reports, Leon Goretzka is in promising negotiations with Aston Villa. After a transfer of Goretzka’s former Munich teammate Joao Palhinha fell through, the German is said to have become the focus of interest, reports the “Birmingham Mail”. Goretzka is said to have recently spoken to coach Unai Emery, and transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano even announced a verbal agreement with the club in the afternoon. The 31-year-old midfielder is on a free transfer after his contract with Bayern expired at the end of June.
