Montella, Vincenzo
– Turkey
+ without a club
The Turkish Football Federation TFF has drawn the consequences of the poor performance in the Nations League games so far and removed national coach Vincenzo Montella from office. The Italian took over the post in September 2023 and led Turkey to a World Cup for the first time since 2002. At the 2026 World Cup in North America, however, the Turks were eliminated after the group stage. Now Turkey has lost its previous four Nations League games with a goal difference of 2:11. A successor to Montella has not yet been appointed, but former national player Arda Turan (39) is considered a candidate.
