Men’s Olympic soccer tournament, semi-final, Monday, 05.08.2024 at 18:00
Of course, my Morocco-Spain semi-final betting tip is somewhat explosive! After all, there are several points of contention between the two nations, ranging from the Western Sahara conflict to fishing rights and the status of the two enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla.
For my Morocco Spain prediction, which is aimed at profitable soccer bets, this fact is not entirely insignificant. Because it can be assumed that the tensions off the pitch could translate into a rough and tough approach on the pitch
I’ve been taking a closer look at the Moroccan men’s soccer team these days. Because I had the impression that I had missed something.
After all, the “Atlas Lions” had just mauled the USA 4:0 in the quarter-finals – and yet I hadn’t even begun to imagine such a game against the US boys!
Especially as I was also right in the group stage with my Ukraine-Morocco tip, which saw the Eastern Europeans ahead.
However, the North Africans have now actually reached the semi-finals and there are more and more supporters in expert circles who now believe they can go all the way
What makes Morocco special is the strong pressure they can exert down the right side of their attack, which was the Americans’ undoing in the quarter-finals.
The seasoned superstar Hakimi (PSG), together with Akhomach (Villarreal), can quickly create an overflow game down this right side of the attack, which will also cause the Spaniards problems on Monday.
The support from the stands will also spur the North Africans on. It should not be forgotten that a not inconsiderable proportion of the population of French cities has a migration background from the Maghreb states.
In Marseille in particular, where the Spaniards will also be playing on Monday, the Atlas Lions can be expected to receive vociferous support
Spain started the group stage strongly, but then possibly put the brakes on a little in their final group game against Egypt (1:2). After all, progression from the group stage was already in the bag after just two match days.
In the quarter-finals, however, the speed was then decisively increased again, and against Japan (3:0) they also managed to play to nil for the first time at this tournament.
However, the Asians certainly deserved a goal, at least they came close. In the 40th minute of the match, Hosoya’s equalizer was subsequently disallowed due to a close offside call.
Spain are probably the favorites in this semi-final, but I don’t really trust them to win
Morocco’s offense should not be underestimated. With Soufiane Rahimi, they have a one-man attack that has never played outside of Africa, but has already scored five goals at this tournament. But that is only part of the truth.
As already shown, the Atlas Lions generate offensive pressure through their outnumbered play on the wings. In addition, the processes and passing sequences required to create big chances are working better and better.
Watch out: The Moroccans have improved offensively from game to game! More and more goals were scored against Ukraine 1 and then against Iraq (3) and the USA (4). And the 2:1 opening victory over Argentina also made an impression
With a look at the current offers in the bookmaking world, the Bet365 offer code and the Morocco Spain odds from the provider of the same name both caught my eye.
After carefully weighing up the pros and cons, I have highlighted several options, which I would like to introduce to you in the next section of my Morocco Spain prediction
Since Morocco have scored more than 2.5 goals in all of their games at this tournament, their passionate style of play suggests that this tendency will be reflected in the semi-finals.
As an over 2.5-goal bet is offered on the betting markets at odds of around 1.93, there are also the necessary incentives for a corresponding soccer bet.
However, I consider the “Both teams to score” option at odds of around 1.80 to be no less interesting, as the Spaniards, despite their technical superiority, have proven to have problems playing to nil until the end.
On the other hand, I rate the 3.55 for a North African victory as a tad too low for me to actually be tempted to place a soccer bet.
The same odds are also available for extra time, which I consider no less likely, as I have secretly chosen a 1:1 draw after 90 minutes as my personal favorite result
Conclusion: I’m relatively certain that the game will be 1-1 at some point.
That’s why I recommend a corresponding soccer bet in view of the attractive odds on the betting markets.
Incidentally, the potential for extra time is also high, although I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that the game could still be decided in favor of one of the two sides in the last 10 minutes.
My Morocco Spain betting tip is: Both teams will score!
