Lars Söndergaard is the new head coach of the Austrian women’s national team. This was announced by the ÖFB on Wednesday. The Dane succeeds Alexander Schriebl, who has suffered nine defeats in the last 14 games. Under the now ex-coach, they recently celebrated the first point ever against Germany – but Schriebl’s tenure did not go according to plan. Söndergaard worked at club level in Austria some time ago and was most recently national coach of the Danish women’s team for five years.
