They were among the “gray mice” of the midfield in 2023/24, Crystal Palace and West Ham don’t want to be accused of that again this season! After both opened the new Premier League round with a defeat, things must go better on Saturday.
The home side welcome one of their favorite opponents of recent years to Selhurst Park. And, historically speaking, I can tell you right away: boredom was out of place here!

Last season, it didn’t make a huge difference whether Crystal Palace played at home or away. However, the fact that only one of their first nine home games in 2023/24 ended with three points is not exactly encouraging
Shooting festivals or boring numbers, the Eagles have always been able to do both. I’m very curious to see which face the kickers pull out on Saturday when they await the Hammers for the London derby.

Both Crystal Palace and West Ham United missed out on points at the start of the season, both suffering two defeats. In my analysis, I found that both were plagued by defensive problems last season.
The Hammers in particular barely made it through without conceding a goal. It was definitely interesting to look at the history of recent years in this pairing. At Selhurst Park, goals are scored like a conveyor belt, almost always by both sides.
