If we look at their recent Ligue 1 encounters, it quickly becomes clear that Paris do not have an outstanding record against them.
PSG have only won one of their last four meetings – and their last game against them in February 2024 also ended in only a 1-1 draw at the Parc des Princes.
Here, too, the Parisians had a hard time and found no solutions to crack the compact defense of the Bretons. The fact that Rennes is able to take points from the defending champions is therefore not a new phenomenon.
If we take a closer look at the PSG Rennes odds, it is noticeable that the German betting providers are not promising particularly attractive payouts for a PSG win.
An average odds of 1.35 for a win by the hosts is not particularly lucrative, especially considering that Rennes are not an easy opponent for possession-oriented teams.
The odds for a victory for the Bretons or for a draw are therefore much more interesting – with 5.00 for a draw and even 7.00 for an away win, it is definitely worth hoping for an “surprise” here.

In the meantime, I expect a clear defensive battle against the Bretons. Seven of the last eight direct duels between PSG and Rennes yielded fewer than 2.5 goals anyway, which makes this scenario particularly interesting.
The odds for “under 2.5 goals” are currently at a strong 2.65.
Conclusion: If you are looking for a value tip, then you should definitely consider the scenario of a point loss for PSG.
It is probably the only worthwhile scenario, as the current PSG Rennes odds for a shaky home win don’t offer any real added value anyway.
A bold bet on Rennes or at least a draw could therefore prove to be the right one if Paris show weaknesses again. This could also be combined with an Under-3.5-goals bet.
