La Liga, Saturday, 25.05.2024
Real Madrid will face Betis Sevilla on the last matchday of the 2023/2024 La Liga season. In sporting terms, the game is relatively insignificant.
As we all know, the Whites have been crowned champions for some time now, while the visitors will finish the season in seventh place in any case.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t expect a good game here. Just think back to last weekend, when Real played out a spectacular 4-4 draw at Villarreal.
I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a few goals here again, so my Real Madrid Betis Sevilla prediction is at least four goals.
I’m playing the bet at Betano at odds of 1.93 – also because I want to point out that this bookmaker currently has a lucrative Betano welcome bonus on offer
Real Madrid have won four competitive matches in a row, conceding just one goal in the process. In Villarreal last weekend, the Whites also looked like certain winners for a long time.
After going 2-0 up at the break, and even more so after going 4-1 up at the break, nobody was giving the Yellow Submarine a second thought. But the experts had done the math without Alexander Sörloth
The former Leipzig man, who had already made it 2-1 at half-time, scored a flawless hat-trick within eight minutes in the second half and almost single-handedly made the final score 4-4.
This meant that the madridistas conceded one more goal than in their previous six competitive matches combined. Nevertheless, they remained unbeaten in their 24th consecutive competitive match (17S, 7U).
The Whites are the favorites on Saturday, but betting on a home win is not really worthwhile given the Real Madrid Betis Sevilla odds of around 1.40 – unless you play them at one of the bookmakers without tax.
In any case, the Blancos have yet to lose a competitive match at home this season. In a total of 24 home games in La Liga and the Champions League, there have been 20 wins and four draws.
Real have scored at least twice in each of their last seven matches at home in the Bernabeu. The madridistas have scored 20 goals in all of their last six competitive matches – an average of more than three per game
The Whites have scored at least four goals in each of their last three matches alone. It is safe to assume that they will not let up in their final home game.
After all, with an eye on the Champions League final against Borussia Dortmund, the aim is to keep the tension high.
In this respect, Real Madrid Betis Sevilla bets on a few home goals are also a good idea – again, it should be said in this context
Because between September 2017 and May 2022, the Blancos actually failed to score a single goal in five consecutive home matches against Betis.
That only changed in the previous season, when Real prevailed 2-0. The first leg this season ended in a 1-1 draw, the seventh direct encounter in a row that the madridistas have not lost.
However, more than half of these last seven encounters have ended in a draw. Three times, each time at the Bernabeu, the game ended in a draw.
The Verdiblancos would certainly sign for a point in the Spanish capital. Just last matchday, they were beaten 2-0 by Real Sociedad in their final home game of the season.
Before that, however, the Beticos had remained unbeaten six times in a row (4S, 2U). It was also another game without a goal of their own, after Betis had scored in each of their previous seven league games.
On the other hand, the visitors have kept a clean sheet in only one of their last 13 competitive games. They have conceded at least two goals in seven of their last eleven league games – most recently three times in a row.
With the aforementioned home defeat against Real Sociedad, the Whites also failed to move past RSSS in the table and into a Europa League place.
The result on Saturday is therefore only of secondary importance. Betis Sevilla will definitely finish the season in seventh place
For me, that’s one of the reasons why I expect an unchallenged home win. In this respect, I also find the bet on a handicap win for Real interesting.
The Blancos will step on the gas again in their last home game. Of course, some players are likely to be rested ahead of the CL final against BVB.
However, it’s also about staying at operating temperature. What’s more, there’s nothing left at stake for the visitors, so changes to their personnel cannot be ruled out either.
All in all, I see clear advantages for the hosts, but they are likely to be susceptible to conceding a goal on the last matchday – and probably not at their best.
Therefore, my Real Madrid Betis Sevilla betting tip is: Over 3.5 goals
