Last season, Marco Richter was on loan from Mainz 05 to Darmstadt 98, played 30 games in the 2nd division and contributed two goals and ten assists. Then the midfielder returned to Mainz, but saw no future for himself there. Club and player terminated the contract by mutual agreement.
