Sardar Azmoun, who signed from Zenit St. Petersburg in 2022, was loaned out to AS Roma in 2023/24. Although he only scored three goals in 23 games there, the Italians would have considered signing the Bayer professional, who is tied down until 2027, if they had qualified for the Champions League. However, Roma missed out on the top flight – and Azmoun is now waiting to see what happens. Sevilla FC are still interested and are eyeing Azmoun as the successor to Youssef En-Nesyri, who is set to leave the club. However, the Spaniards prefer a loan with an option to buy, while Bayer would prefer to sell and raise around 10 million euros. There is also reportedly interest from Qatar and Saudi Arabia
