SC Freiburg and Nicolas Höfler (34) have agreed to extend their partnership. As usual, the Breisgauers did so without giving any details. The midfielder joined the club as a 15-year-old, became German champion with the U19s and has shaped the midfield at Sport-Club since 2013 and a temporary loan to FC Erzgebirge Aue. With 351 professional appearances, Höfler ranks third in the club’s record player list, and even second in the Bundesliga match rankings with 267 games. In the media release, CEO Jochen Saier spoke of an “extraordinary connection” between Sport-Club and “Chicco” Höfler.
