Whittaker vs. Aliskerov: Prediction & Betting odds
In the UFC Fight Night in Riyadh Robert Whittaker and Ikram Aliskerov from the middleweight division will face each other.
Whittaker is a UFC veteran. The 33-year-old New Zealander has been active in the elite MMA league since 2012. He has been in a title fight twice, losing both times. Whittaker is currently number 3 in the UFC middleweight rankings.
Aliskerov, on the other hand, is brand new to the UFC. The duel with Whittaker in Riyadh is only his third fight in the “Champions League of MMA”. The 31-year-old Dagestani won his first two fights – both by knockout!
In their Whittker vs. Aliskerov predictions and betting odds, the bookmakers with UFC bets see the established warhorse relatively clearly ahead
One thing in Whittaker’s favor: experience! He has already contested 32 MMA fights in his long career as a professional fighter – winning 25 of them.
In recent years, “The Reaper” has fought all of the well-known competitors in his weight class. Among others, twice each with Yoel Romero and Israel Adesanya as well as with Kelvin Gastelum, Marvin Vettori and most recently Paulo Costa, whom he defeated in February of this year.
However, Whittaker has also been defeated twice in his last five fights – first by Adesanya in the title fight for the middleweight crown and then by Dricus du Plessis. In between, he was able to celebrate a win against Vettori.
Whittaker and Aliskerov head-to-head
Aliskerov has only fought two fights at UFC level so far, both of which he won by knockout in round 1.
Most recently in October 2023 against Warlley Alves. It only took him 2:07 minutes. Since he also won by knockout in his first UFC fight after just 2:10 minutes, Aliskerov has only been in a UFC cage for 4:17 minutes – less than the duration of a round!
However, Aliskerov is not a pure knockout machine, but versatile – like all Dagestani cage fighters. Of his 15 MMA victories, he has won six by knockout, but also five by submission and four on points.
“Ali” will also need stamina, because Whittaker can dish it out and take it. Five of his last six fights have gone the full distance. Eleven of his 25 MMA victories came by decision. He won 9 times by TKO or KO.
