West Ham – Crystal Palace betting tip, prediction & odds 18/01/2025

Premier League, Saturday, 18/01/2025 at 4:00 PM

14th place – and still quite satisfied? The fans of Crystal Palace are actually experiencing a relaxed season without relegation worries. It is particularly pleasing that their team hardly ever loses.

The draw lovers will face off in London on Saturday in a neighborhood duel in the table – there is no favorite here. Accordingly, I will now tell you in my West Ham Crystal Palace betting tip why it could be worth the risk to bet on a draw here.

A defeat in their last ten games? Crystal Palace can definitely be proud of that! The Eagles are now doing really well and have built up a nice cushion between themselves and the relegation zone.

Sure, they don’t win all that often, but their nine draws have earned them quite a few points. Four wins, three draws and one defeat – their last eight matches have not been too bad.

Especially considering that they only managed to win once in the first 13 rounds. Since Crystal Palace now has to play away, I have a very special encouragement for all fans.

Namely, that their team has not only not lost in six away games, but has also won three of the last four! 2-0 at Leicester, 3-1 against Brighton, 1-0 against Ipswich and also a 0-0 against strong Bournemouth, these are really great results.

And let’s be honest: the team didn’t need the three defeats it suffered away from home. They lost 2-1 at Brentford and Everton respectively, and the 1-0 defeat at Nottingham was just as narrow.

Crystal Palace have conceded 11 goals away from home – can anyone do better? In fact, nobody! The Eagles have the best away defense in the league, with more than two goals conceded never before.

On the negative side, it has never worked to win two games in a row – that’s exactly what should work now, right after the 2-0 win against Leicester City.

Incidentally, the Eagles have only conceded a single goal in their last four away games, and in the 3-1 win at Brighton, they scored an own goal just before the final whistle when the score was 3-0.

So should you bet on Crystal Palace keeping a clean sheet at the weekend? At Interwetten I would bet on it at odds of 3.85. Too high? Then just use your Interwetten Freebet for this.

The general odds suggest that no one is really ahead here anyway. An average 2.60 for West Ham, a 2.70 for Crystal Palace, that should be a hot dance.

The direct comparison doesn’t really help me at this point, because both teams collect various results in alternation. What is very interesting, however, is that in 14 of the last 15 games, “both teams score” would have been correct.

West Ham will enjoy home advantage at the weekend. After their recent 3-2 win over Fulham, the aim is to finally get two wins in a row. The Olympic Stadium is truly not a fortress with four wins, two draws and five defeats.

Only one of the last five home games ended in victory, and when they lose at home, it’s often by a heavy margin. 2-5 against Arsenal, 0-5 against Liverpool, 0-3 against Chelsea or 1-3 against Manchester City?

Admittedly, these opponents are the best, but the defensive performances are still alarming. With 24 goals conceded at home, the Hammers are bottom in the home goals conceded table, only Southampton can surpass that.

Only in a 0-0 against Everton was a clean sheet played at home, so the white shirts are not particularly popular. With Ipswich, Manchester United, Wolverhampton and Fulham, they have mostly beaten teams that are far down the table.

Admittedly, Crystal Palace may not be a top team, but the Eagles’ performances over the past few months have impressed me! They hardly ever lose, especially away from home, where they are no longer a welcome guest.

The defense is the best of all teams, ten points from the last four games are excellent. To be honest, I don’t really know where to start with West Ham, but in any case, the bigger problems are at home.

Since only Arsenal and Liverpool have lost at their own stadium since September, I have nevertheless recognized a certain form of consistency. Ultimately, I don’t really see anyone in front, which is why my automatic tip is:

We predict a draw!
