ATP Stuttgart participants: Seedings & favorites for the BOSS Open 2025?
Since the BOSS Open is not one of the highest categories of the ATP Tour, but rather a 250 tournament in the lowest division, the top stars are not required to compete in the ATP tournament at Stuttgart’s Weissenhof. Nevertheless, numerous top players and big names will be there.
Who will play at the BOSS Open 2025?
The number 1 seed at the ATP Stuttgart would be Alexander Zverev. The world number three is expected to lead the field at the BOSS Open – which would also make him one of the favorites to win the title.
Provided, that is, that he actually shows up. After his quarter-final defeat to Novak Djokovic, he said: “I’m going to play golf now – I don’t feel like tennis.”
Regardless of whether Zverev plays or not, the big favorites to win in Stuttgart in 2025 are likely to be the Americans.
With Taylor Fritz, Tommy Paul, Ben Shelton, and Frances Tiafoe, four US stars, all ranked in the top 20 in the world, will be competing in Germany’s biggest grass court tennis tournament. And they play very well on this surface. Tiafoe, for example, is the 2023 Stuttgart winner.
Other favorites at the ATP Stuttgart tournament are the two Italians Lorenzo Musetti (ATP No. 7) and Matteo Berrettini (Stuttgart champion in 2022 and 2019 and last year’s finalist) as well as the Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Brazilian youngster Joao Fonseca and Jan-Lennard Struff, the second German player alongside Zverev, have received wild cards for the main draw. Although Struff has not been in good form recently, he plays very well on grass – in 2023, he reached the final of the BOSS Open.
