Barcelona – Atletico Madrid betting tip, prediction & odds 21.12.2024

La Liga, Saturday, 21.12.2024 at 21:00

Now there is a threat of a fall from the top of the table, and that because of two pursuers! FC Barcelona’s crisis is getting worse and worse in our La Liga championship betting, and on Saturday the Catalans now face a top match against a rival.

Our bookies are full of optimism that Barca will recover here – unfortunately not me! For this reason, I’ll tell you in my Barcelona Atletico Madrid betting tip why everything speaks for the double chance X2 for me:

Eleven wins and one defeat – and one or two fans were probably already imagining how they would celebrate the championship in early summer! Admittedly, FC Barcelona have made a start to this 2024/25 season that has left many in awe.

But at some point, and the search for the “why” is still ongoing, the team experienced a very nasty slump. It looks like this: One win from the last six games, slip-ups against various underdogs, the lead completely squandered!

Atletico are level in the table, Real one point behind – but as both teams still have a catch-up game to play, FCB’s current first place should be treated with great caution.

0:1 at Real Sociedad, 2:2 against Celta Vigo, 1:2 against Las Palmas, 2:2 against Betis Sevilla and most recently the 0:1 against the relegation candidates from Leganes – the fans who were already dreaming of the title are now rubbing their eyes in amazement.

“Keep your eyes open” is also the motto when choosing the right betting provider: Oddset definitely has something for you here!

Barca squandered a lead against Betis and Celta Vigo and the players are now completely rattled. No goal in a home game against Leganes? Whoever bet on that should have taken home a tidy profit!

Two goals from the last seven games, the crisis is of course also affecting striker Robert Lewandowski. And as if all that wasn’t bad enough, Barca have now also received some bad news in terms of personnel.

Lamine Yamal, the Spanish super talent, will be missing for several weeks! Everything seems to be going against the Catalans at the moment, and with so many recent slip-ups against underdogs, supporters are likely to be looking ahead to the coming weekend with worry lines.

Atletico Madrid – that’s actually a favorite opponent! However, Barcelona should easily be able to put clubs like Celta Vigo, Leganes and Las Palmas in their pockets, so it goes without saying that nothing is going to happen at the moment

The last five matches against the Colchoneros have all been won, but before that there was also a drought of five games without a win. I’m only referring to the Primera Division, by the way.

The last defeat in a home game? That was in February 2006 for Barca! Carles Puyol wore the captain’s armband, Frank Rijkaard was on the touchline and a certain Lionel Messi was still wearing shirt number 30.

So, the history would clearly speak in Barca’s favor, and apparently this is not an unimportant point for our tax-free betting providers. The odds are an average of 1.85 to 3.90 on Saturday.

Atletico Madrid won’t be bothered by that, however, as the Colchoneros know that they could be top of the table after this clash – and you can’t travel to Barcelona with more motivation than that!

The visitors have more than earned their current position, as they have currently won six games in a row. A 1-0 draw against Betis Sevilla was their only defeat, which is incredible given that they drew five times in the first nine rounds.

The days of unnecessarily giving away points are long gone, and the team is now rigorously following through. 2:0 against Las Palmas, 1:0 against Mallorca, 2:1 against Alaves, 5:0 against Real Valladolid, 4:3 against Sevilla and 1:0 against Getafe?

You usually like it tight and efficient, but every now and then you have to alternate between shooting festivals and boring numbers! Ten goals in the first half, 21 in the second? That’s typical Atletico!

The Madrilenians also like to score very late, an incredible EIGHT goals have already been scored in stoppage time! So will the bet that more will happen after the break pay off automatically?

At Betano, this bet would bring you odds of 2.00. 4-3-1? Atletico still have some catching up to do away from home, even though they have won their last two games. When they win away from home, they always do so with a clean sheet.

Since the first matchday, when they drew 2-2 at Villarreal, they have conceded a maximum of one goal away from home. It’s no wonder that I look at the “Under 1.5 goals FCB” bet at Oddset and realize: The great odds of 2.10 could pay off!

What’s going on with FC Barcelona! While Madrid are grinning maliciously, the FCB fans are not doing particularly well at the moment. They are in a huge crisis and are no longer even scoring goals against relegation candidates.

Their home strength is also off the table and Lamine Yamal is now missing through injury. Atletico Madrid are in a completely different situation at the moment. The Colchoneros are in the flow, have won five games in a row and could even become the new leaders on Sunday.

Of course, I know that Atletico haven’t won in Barcelona (in terms of the league) for almost 19 years. But given the current situation, I say: It’s time to change that! So my tip:

Barca will not win against Atletico.
