Bundesliga 22nd matchday, Sunday, 16.02.2025 at 5:30 pm
A week free of European competition is a good thing, and Frankfurt have truly earned it thanks to their top-8 finish in the Europa League. SGE coach Dino Toppmöller will certainly have been just as pleased about this as I was about a great sports betting bonus.
With fresh energy and concentration on the Bundesliga, they should not have too many problems against the promoted team. In my Frankfurt Kiel prediction, I even expect Eintracht to put the “Störche” in their place in a sovereign manner.
Nevertheless, Holstein is always good for a surprise and regularly scores goals – regardless of the outcome of the game. So fans can look forward to plenty of entertainment!
Eintracht have an impressive goal record in the Bundesliga and are still considered dangerous in attack even without Omar Marmoush. Their streak of 20 consecutive league games with a goal speaks to their unbridled offensive power.
Holstein, on the other hand, have conceded 54 goals, the weakest defense in the league, and in this respect can even be compared to the only other team this decade, Greuther Fürth from the 2021/22 season, who had already conceded 56 goals by this point.
So there is some evidence that the “eagles” could get a clear win. But in my Frankfurt Kiel prediction, I also took into account the possible number of goals. Because this is what makes my envisaged football bet really interesting.
Sure, if Frankfurt is rested in their own stadium, then things look bleak for any team, no matter how strong they are.
With odds of 1.33 for the Hessians, the betting providers are expecting a clear home win next Sunday without batting an eyelid.
The promoted team is considered the clear underdog, which is also reflected in the extremely high Kiel Frankfurt odds of 6.00 on average for a draw and 8.00 for an away win.
AI prediction Frankfurt vs Kiel: That’s what ChatGPT predicted
The Frankfurt Kiel AI prediction really surprised me. ChatGPT doesn’t always provide useful suggestions, but this time the artificial intelligence seems to have hit the nail on the head! That’s how I would bet too!
For example, “Kiel over 1.5 goals” is suggested at odds for a high payout. An interesting tip that statistically makes perfect sense.
With one exception, the Störche have always scored at least two goals since the beginning of the year – so with a bit of luck, this tip could actually work out.
At medium risk, the AI recommends “Both score: No”. Normally, I would trust the SGE to keep a clean sheet, but with Kiel being so strong in attack, you never know. So there is still a risk that they will score a goal after all.
For the low risk, the AI finally suggests “Frankfurt to win & Over 2.5 goals in the game”.
This is by far the best of the three tips. I estimate the probability of success of this betting suggestion at 90%.
Analysis: Frankfurt vs Kiel
Frankfurt may be in third place, but the gap to the two championship rivals Bayern and Leverkusen has now widened.
Three draws against teams like Hoffenheim (2:2), Wolfsburg (1:1) and Gladbach (1:1), at least one of which they should have beaten, are to blame for this.
However, Kiel are much easier to play against than this trio and are currently unable to keep a clean sheet.
Because no matter how many goals Harres and Machino score for the “Störche”, if the promoted team does not plug its defensive leak, it will be difficult to avoid relegation.
Since the beginning of the year, no Bundesliga club has managed to score at least two goals against them.
Even Bochum, who are bottom of the league and extremely weak in attack, managed to achieve this feat last week (2-2) when they were guests on the Baltic Sea coast!
Odds analysis
“Hugo Ekitike scores in 1.75” is definitely a solid goal scorer tip with a lot of value, which I would definitely like to refer you to at this point.
The Frenchman has been the central figure at Frankfurt since the departure of Omar Marmoush and could now also score on Sunday, if not him, then who?
“Over 3.5 goals” at 2.02 also looks promising, even if the odds could have been a bit higher to rate it as ‘particularly interesting’ for you.
But given the style of play and offensive power of both teams, this seemingly safe bet could at least pay off without much trepidation!
Frankfurt vs. Kiel: Will the offense decide the game?
The last encounter was less than half a year ago and the result fits perfectly with my Frankfurt Kiel forecast for next Sunday.
The Hessians beat Kiel 4-2 on matchday 5. However, the “Eagles’” attacking duo will be completely different from then.
While Marmoush is now under contract with the Citizens, the scorer at the time, Igor Matanovic, is one of the very few SGE players currently out with injuries.
Nevertheless, the Hessians should be well-positioned with their new dual leadership consisting of Ekitike and Batshuayi.
Frankfurt should let it rip at home!
There should definitely be goals – and possibly several on both sides. After all, both clubs don’t need much to hammer the ball into the net.
After all, Eintracht Frankfurt and Holstein Kiel have both converted 47% of their big chances this season (the same as Mainz 05) – only Leverkusen have been more clinical in converting such opportunities (53%).
Did you know that? Only Bayern (18) have scored more Bundesliga goals this calendar year than the Störche (14). Crazy!
Furthermore, SGE should get the better of their opponents, despite their offensive power, as things are just going too well for them, especially in the Deutsche Bank Park.
Eintracht Frankfurt have not lost to promoted teams in 13 Bundesliga games – only between 2008 and 2012 did they have a longer winning streak (15 games).
Last season alone, the SGE took a full 10 out of a possible 12 points against promoted teams and has so far taken all six possible points from the first two meetings in the 2024/25 season.
In addition, Eintracht is still unbeaten after the first six Bundesliga games in 2025 (3 wins, 3 draws). If that’s not a compelling argument for a home win bet?
And now that Omar Marmoush is gone, the fans of Hessen have a new darling! Hugo Ekitiké has scored five goals in his last five Bundesliga games – only Bayern’s Harry Kane has scored more often in 2025 (7 times).
And the club benefits from this in two ways! Because Frankfurt has always scored points in the last 11 Bundesliga games in which the Frenchman has scored (6 wins, 5 draws).
My Frankfurt Kiel Tip:
The SGE is the clear favorite in this game. At home against a promoted team – and one that has had a rest? They shouldn’t let that take away from them!
While Kiel will probably be able to score one or two goals – maybe even three – the points will probably still go to Frankfurt, who have had a whole week to prepare for this game.
My Frankfurt Kiel prediction: Win SGE & Hugo Ekitike scores.
