Major League Soccer season 2024
When it’s on, it’s on! That’s exactly what Inter Miami are doing, and they’re doing it right. They are finally one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer and will naturally want to maintain their current strong form.
Messi and Co. will be at home on Thursday night, and the odds clearly favor the home side. At the end of the day, I can only go with the same line in my Inter Miami Atlanta United and will therefore tell you why I would also back a home win!
It looks like a team has found itself! Inter Miami got off to a bumpy start this season, with three wins, three draws and two defeats. The first doubters were already on the scene.
We remember: Lionel Messi was signed in the middle to final stages of the previous season, but the world champion alone could not save the botched season
Now he’s involved from the start, and with him Barca buddy Luis Suárez. It seems to have paid off that the forward duo have been involved in the entire preparation, as Miami are currently top of the Eastern Conference!
Admittedly, the runners-up from Cincinnati are only one point behind with one game less to play, but Inter can of course be proud of their current performance. Things have been going really well since matchday eight
Seven wins and a draw, it can go on like this. Last weekend they won 2:1 against Vancouver, before that it was a 1:0 against D.C. United. So does the team rely on narrow victories?
That’s not quite the way to put it. The last three victories have only been by one goal, another five this season, but also more. The two different faces are interesting.
There has already been a 1:0, but also the results 6:2, 3:2 or 4:1! Inter are really good offensively, but every now and then the attack takes a little break to catch its breath
With 38 goals, the offense is by far the best in the conference, and of course Luis Suárez and Lionel Messi are also getting involved. The duo have 21 goals to their name, which is of course far more than half!
Of course, we don’t need to talk about how high the star density is at David Beckham’s club: Alongside Suárez and Messi, the names of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba pop up, the former Barca quartet looking to show everyone once again.
In any case, Inter still have a score to settle with Atlanta United. In September of last year, they lost 2:5! The direct comparison is almost even, with three draws and five wins for Miami and four for Atlanta.
The visitors are a disappointing twelfth in the table, which is probably why our bookmakers are already preparing for the European Championship. They see the hosts in front with an average of 1.50 to 5.20, which is quite an advantage
Inter have won all of their last three home games against this rival and have not lost at home. Atlanta travel to this game with only three wins behind them, and the fans had hoped for a better result.
What is particularly alarming is the fact that these three wins have already come in the first six rounds. They have now not won in nine games!
Four of the last five games have even ended completely without a point, so it doesn’t help Atlanta that all the defeats have been very close. And there’s something else that speaks against three points on Thursday
Atlanta have won three times, but only at home! Things don’t look particularly rosy away from home with three draws and three defeats, and they’ve only scored twice in those six games.
As if the sporting facts weren’t worrying enough, there’s also the fact that keeper Brad Guzan will not be involved in Miami, as he is serving his red ban after an emergency brake in the LAFC match
Will Inter Miami strike again? Everything is going like clockwork at the moment, so they would like to stay top of the table. Almost everyone is expecting another win at home against Atlanta United on Thursday.
After my analysis, I can only say: I agree with this opinion! Not only because Inter are in really good form themselves, but also because I unfortunately have very little faith in the visitors away from home.
Atlanta are winless away from home and have scored a measly two goals. All these facts combined mean that I’m putting the following tip into the race:
Inter win against Atlanta
