The dominator strikes the next blow! The women’s grand final at the French Open 2024 takes place on Saturday, and of course a place has been awarded to the world No. 1.
Iga Swiatek wants her fourth title since 2020, Roland Garros is now firmly in her hands. She is unlikely to have expected her opponent, as she is not ranked in the top 10.
So, does the blatant outsider have no chance at all on Saturday? That’s exactly what I want to find out in my Swiatek Paolini betting tip and I’ll also reveal why I have my eye on the “Under 17.5 games” bet from betting provider Bwin
Admittedly, when it comes to Iga Swiatek, at some point you reach the end of the search. At the end of the search for superlatives, because the Polish rider has been breaking one record after another for a few years now.
She cannot be displaced from the top of the world rankings and was the big favorite to triumph in Paris right from the start. And so what was bound to happen happened: she reached the final after losing just one set and winning numerous matches!
Only Naomi Osaka was able to make life difficult for her at 7-6, 1-6, 7-5, and Swiatek almost went home after the second round. However, she reeled off all her other matches with aplomb.
Her opponents in the quarter-finals and semi-finals were actually very tough, but Swiatek dispatched them in quick succession. 6-0, 6-2 against Marketa Vondrousova and 6-2, 6-4 against Cori Gauff, many a spectator would have liked more excitement here
After her narrow win against Osaka, the Polish player only conceded two breaks and only eight games in her last three matches. Double faults in this period? None at all! No question, Swiatek is and remains ice-cold.
The French Open is her favorite major anyway. Since 2020, she has won the title here no fewer than three times, and she is seemingly unbeatable here on Court Phillippe-Chatrier.
Swiatek has played Jasmine Paolini, her current opponent in the final, twice in her career. In Prague, back in 2018, she won easily 6-2, 6-1, when the Italian was not even of age yet!
The second duel took place at the US Open 2022, and that also went to the favorite (6-3, 6-0). So I’m not surprised that various Swiatek odds on Saturday aren’t worth it at all.

For Jasmine Paolini, reaching the Roland Garros final is of course the crowning glory of her career for the time being. It’s hard to believe that the 1.63m tall Italian has only ever reached the round of 16 at a Grand Slam!
In Paris, the 2nd round was the highest of emotions, with the current final she is entering completely new territory. The 28-year-old is benefiting these days at Roland Garros both from her own performances and a bit of luck of the draw
She celebrated her first victories against Daria Saville (6-3, 6-4), Hailey Baptiste (6-4, 7-6) and Bianca Andreescu (6-1, 3-0, 6-0) and had also shown in Elina Awanessjan (4-6, 6-0, 6-1) that she wanted to go really far this time.
In the quarter-finals there was a real surprise: Paolini beat Jelena Rybakina 6-2, 4-6, 6-4! An incredible success, now the current (soon to be climbed) number 15 in the world should feel ready for anything.
No sooner said than done, the semi-final was a clash of outsiders, with Jasmine Paolini facing Mirra Andreeva, the 17-year-old prodigy. It was to be a match that was over far too quickly.
Andreeva was visibly nervous, allowing Paolini to take control. In the end, however, she was jubilant and won 6-3, 6-1, her clearest victory, which she actually saved for the semi-finals.
80% of her first serves were successful over the net, and Paolini also fended off all of her opponent’s break chances. Although she is only 1.63 meters tall (Swiatek is 1.76m), her service should never be underestimated
My Swiatek Paolini tip
The match is on: David against Goliath! No one is surprised that Iga Swiatek is appearing in the final of the French Open. Whenever the Polish woman serves, it’s almost always just a question of how clear the victory will be this time.
Jasmine Paolini has of course earned her place in the final, after all she sent Jelena Rybakina home. Nevertheless, I can’t imagine that the top favorite will show nerves here and expect a rather short final.
My Swiatek Paolini tip is therefore: Less than 17.5 games will be played.
