Tennis Tips today – matches today 16.11.
The semi-finals of the ATP Finals are coming up! Alongside Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev is one of the favorites for the title, which would be his third at the year-end tournament. He has already won the finals in 2018 and 2021.
I definitely think he can do it in his current form. The current world number two survived the group stage without losing a set, and most recently he defeated the Channel Slam winner of the year, Carlos Alcaraz. Germany’s number one is still without a lost service game!
Will the streak continue in the knockout phase? He will face the man who has already beaten him in two major tournaments, Taylor Fritz. He won against the German in the quarterfinals of the US Open and in the round of 16 at Wimbledon.
It won’t be an easy game, but ultimately Zverev is currently showing incredible late form, Fritz will have to stretch himself. Our tennis betting providers such as Bet365 and Co. also see it that way. Zverev is favored.
Tennis Tips today – 16.11.2024
Zverev, Fritz, we could expect the two names in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, Sinner faces Casper Ruud in his semi-final, who was listed as the clear underdog in the Zverev group before the start, but was able to lay the foundation with a straight win against an injured Alcaraz.
He also put in a good performance against the 2021 Olympic champion and finally secured his place in the last eight with a victory in the first set against Andrey Rublev. He managed a second victory in three sets against the Russian in the group stage.
Ruud was considered an outsider due to his form crisis with numerous defeats before Turin. At the ATP Finals, he is showing a different side, but I expect a thrashing against Sinner. Not only because the high-flyer from South Tyrol has only lost three of 52 hard court matches.
At the beginning, Ruud had an easy game against Alcaraz, the Spaniard produced countless unforced errors and with Rublev he had another opponent in the group who is currently not in top form.

Tennis tips today 16.11.: Zverev – Fritz (2:30 p.m.)
Zverev still has a score to settle with Fritz after the defeats in London and New York. The Californian also came out on top in the Laver Cup. At least the two-time finalist was able to get the upper hand in Rome, where Zverev celebrated his first of two Masters titles this year.
The first Grand Slam title is still pending. It’s clear to me that, with the form he’s currently showing, he’ll be ready for it in 2025. He plays aggressively and his forehand is on point. These were the two Achilles’ heels of the man with the long mane, who was given the nickname “Tarzan” by Ruud.
In Turin, Zverev has not yet lost a service game. Fritz also serves strongly, having only lost against Sinner so far, while beating Alex De Minaur and Daniil Medvedev. However, he has conceded a total of four breaks. On top of that, Zverev is in much better form overall.
Our expert tip: Set 1 & Match Zverev
Tennis Betting today 16.11.: Sinner – Ruud (20:30)
The final is only a matter of time, as the odds of the betting providers clearly show. In some cases, only 1.03 is offered for the success of the Grand Slam winner of both hard court majors this year.
I also see Sinner clearly in the lead. He has clearly been the most consistent player on this surface this year. After his triumph in Shanghai, he was slowed down by an infection, but there was no sign of that in Turin from the start. Like Zverev, he won all his matches comfortably and was even able to avoid tiebreaks.
Ruud, who was in the 2021 US Open final but is stronger on clay courts, last played the northern Italian three years ago, losing in Vienna in the year before in two sets. Meanwhile, Sinner is at a much higher level. Ruud is not the best server, and I expect him to be under constant pressure against the defensively strong Sinner.
Our expert tip: 2:0 Sinner & no tiebreak
