Tottenham Hotspur – Manchester City betting tip
Spurs’ win against Burnley was not particularly convincing after months of failure, but three points are still three points – and as we know, they always help in the fight for Europe.
A real Premier League treat, which we were denied on matchday 34, will now take place on the other side of the Channel on Wednesday.
With the Oddset bonus to hand, I’ll be placing a Tottenham Manchester City tip that sees the Citzens consolidate their lead at the top of the league. However, they have been far too dominant for a negative surprise for weeks now!
This is a very important game for the Citizens keeper! Because in this game, Ederson could celebrate his 250th Premier League appearance.
So far, he has kept a clean sheet 112 times in 249 games, with only Petr Cech (127) and Pepe Reina (119) collecting more white vests in their first 250 games.
However, my Tottenham Manchester City prediction is of course primarily concerned with which tips will pay off with a bookmaker with a valid sports betting license and who will ultimately become champions.
Pep Guardiola’s men have it in their own hands, but one defeat and the Gunners, who are within striking distance, could actually overtake them in the closing meters.
The oddsmakers’ forecast?
Sports bookmakers like Happybet know what is at stake for the visitors and can’t seem to imagine Guardiola’s side suddenly losing momentum after 7 league wins in a row.
Especially as Spurs’ list of absentees is quite long and includes Timo Werner, who recently returned to the island.
The Tottenham Manchester City odds therefore give the Citizens the clear favorite role this Wednesday with a value of 1.30 compared to the 7.00, which is traded for an unlikely victory for the home side
Analysis: Tottenham vs Manchester City
Don’t worry, Spurs fans: I’ll come back to the ability of your lads to put a spanner in the works in the later part of my prediction.
Meanwhile, Tottenham finally managed to end their run of four consecutive defeats since the beginning of April with a 2-1 win over Burnley, but it didn’t look particularly convincing.
In fact, I can’t shake off the impression that the Londoners are no longer really motivated – and they should be!
Because in the final spurt for the allocation of the European Cup starting places for the 2024/25 season, a strong opponent is visiting on Wednesday, who now wants to become champions at all costs after a failed Champions League campaign
The form to defend the title is certainly there! Manchester City are unbeaten in 21 Premier League games in a row (17 wins, 4 draws). What a run!
Only once have they ever had a longer run without defeat in this competition – when they went unbeaten for 30 games between April 2017 and January 2018.
The Citizens have also won their last four Premier League away games. This trend should reassure fans of Guardiola’s side for the time being, before we take a closer look at their away record at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Incidentally, only once in their league history have the Sky Blues won four games in a row away from home without conceding a goal, and that was in the Championship in March/April 1903.
Analysis of odds
In my opinion, it remains to be seen whether Guardiola’s team can actually help their own keeper keep his 113 clean sheet.
However, it is becoming apparent that the Citizens will score two goals again, and nobody should take that away from them.
Manchester City have won their last seven Premier League games, sometimes with and sometimes without conceding a goal, but they have always managed to score a brace in each of these appearances.
As a result, I’ve asked about an “Away win & Over 1.5 goals” bet, which would currently promise you nice odds of around 1.50 at the betting shop
Pep Guardiola meets his “Bestia Negra “
If you want to annoy Pep Guardiola, ask him about his previous experiences at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham have won their last four Premier League home games against Manchester City without conceding a single goal. An astonishing record that underlines Spurs’ dominance over the Citizens.
But that’s not all: under the management of Pep Guardiola, Manchester City have lost more games against Tottenham in the Premier League than against any other opponent – a whopping six times.
As a result, many more skeptical betting experts than myself are wondering whether Spurs might actually manage to give the defending champions a leg up just before the finish line.
ManCity: Phil Foden is my favorite!
It’s not my favorite soccer bet, but some of my betting friends have rightly pointed out Dejan Kulusevski’s outstanding record, which I don’t want to hide from you here.
The Swede has been directly involved in five goals in his four Premier League games against Manchester City, more than against any other opponent in the competition (3 goals, 2 assists).
His ability to shine against the Citizens therefore makes him a key figure and a candidate for a bold goal bet.
The Citizens, on the other hand, have two candidates for a goal bet, to whom I naturally have to pay much more attention simply because of the outcome of the game on Wednesday, which I favor.
Phil Foden and Jack Grealish have already scored goals for their club in the first-round clash against Tottenham as the season draws to a close.
Both are also part of England’s squad for Euro 2024 and will be keen to put in some top-class performances between now and then
I would slightly prefer Foden for another goal against Spurs, however, as he not only performed better in the 4-0 win over Fulham at the weekend, but also contributed to his team’s resounding victory with a goal.
Incidentally, the only players to have scored both home and away against Spurs in a Premier League season for the Citizens are Sergio Agüero (2013-14 and 2014-15), Ilkay Gündogan (2017-18) and Raheem Sterling (2017-18).
My tip:
The way Manchester City roared past Fulham a few days ago and have been playing for weeks, I can’t see the “Spurs curse” throwing them off their stride.
This venue is certainly a hot spot for the visitors and Pep Guardiola in particular, but the bottom line is that there is simply too little to suggest that they will drop valuable points here on Wednesday.
The Londoners are without a lot of players and their recent win over promoted Burnley hardly knocked the socks off their own supporters.
Therefore, my Tottenham Manchester City betting tip is: Win City & Over 1.5 goals
