For some it goes up and up, the others continue to fall from week to week! When Tottenham and Newcastle meet in the Premier League on Saturday, the mood could not be more different.
The home side from north London have major problems and, despite having home advantage, will go into the game as underdogs.
In my Tottenham Newcastle betting tip, I’ll tell you why I’m keeping an eye on the double chance X2 and also hoping for goals.
The Tottenham Hotspurs see themselves as one of England’s top teams, one that belongs in the Champions League. All well and good, understandable so far. But the league table, as we all know, never lies.
And they say what the fans don’t like to hear: The club is really miles away from being a top team! Spurs are eleventh, have won just seven and lost nine times in 19 matchdays
They have won just one of their last seven games, and that only against bottom club Southampton. After the defeats against Liverpool (3:6) and Nottingham (0:1), the 2:2 draw against Wolverhampton was also a disappointment.
The deficit was wiped out in the 87th minute and it was only the third draw of the season. Previously, the points had been shared against Leicester and Fulham, with the north Londoners also failing to hold on to a lead.
The latest 2-2 draw was a result that suited the team like a glove. On the one hand, because they scored two goals of their own again. The team has now scored 41 goals, only the leaders Liverpool have scored more.
On the other hand, unfortunately, because they have now scored 28 times in their own box. The 3.5 goal mark has already been broken ten times, so there is almost always something going on at this club.
However, there are always outliers in between, such as a 0:1 or a 1:1, which you wouldn’t necessarily expect. With four wins from their first five home games, Spurs got off to a great start in their own stadium, but that was not to last.
1:1 against Fulham, 3:4 against Chelsea, 3:6 against Liverpool and 2:2 against Wolverhampton, the last four appearances were anything but successful and especially worrying defensively.
In the last three matches, the 2.5 goals have been cracked before the break. So this could be a great betting option for you. In the event that there are at least two goals in the first 45 minutes on Saturday, Betano will give you odds of 1.93.
If you want to take even more risk and bet on over 2.5 goals, the value even rises to 3.80. And speaking of Betano: With the promo code, you can really cash in with this bookie!
Incidentally, Tottenham have only scored once at home – and that was in their first home game of the season in a 4-0 win against Everton. Can I at least give the fans some promising facts from the history?
Four of the last five games against Newcastle have been lost – so unfortunately I can only answer this question in the negative! The last eight head-to-head meetings have featured a whopping 37 goals, so boredom has not been the order of the day here.
With average odds of 2.80 to 2.20, the capital city will go into this game at the weekend, so the visitors from Newcastle are favored. No wonder, because things are going really well for them at the moment!
Six wins in the first 15 rounds – and now they’ve won all of the last four! 4:0 against Leicester, 4:0 against Ipswich, 3:0 against Aston Villa and 2:0 against Manchester United, the defense is finally solid
They have also netted at least twice in six games, which is of course also down to Alexander Isak. He scored eight times in this period and never missed a game. No wonder I’m also taking a closer look at this bet.
Isak is a 1.80 at Betano, odds that would have been significantly higher months ago. Since he’s only gone one away game without scoring in almost three months, this bet pays off even more.
What works wonderfully for some no longer works at all for others! Tottenham Hotspur continue to struggle, concede far too many goals and are no longer winning at home.
Newcastle United, on the other hand, are in a completely different situation, as the Magpies are only winning and are really solid at the back. They are brimming with self-confidence and know that Tottenham suits us now too!
Since Spurs are very weak defensively and the Magpies, thanks mainly to Alexander Isak, are scoring as they please, I have decided on the following bet:
Newcastle to score at Over 1.5 goals!
