“I’m not happy sitting on the bench,” said Wolfsburg’s Jonas Wind, expressing his displeasure after he was only brought on as a substitute in the cup against Hoffenheim. The 25-year-old striker has only made five Bundesliga starts (three goals, one assist). Wind’s contract in Wolfsburg expires in 2026, and an extension is considered highly unlikely, meaning the paths will likely part in the summer at the latest. Or maybe even as early as this winter? The offensive man does not rule it out. “I don’t know,” he says. “Maybe we’ll see in January what happens.”
