SG Wattenscheid 09 have agreed a one-year contract with Vincent Gembalies and, according to their own statement, have thus filled the last vacant position in the defensive area. In the past six months, the 26-year-old central defender played for the Austrian second division club Schwarz-Weiß Bregenz. The defender, who has experience in the second and third divisions, knows the Regionalliga West from his stints at SC Paderborn 07 II and Wuppertaler SV. Wattenscheid coach Przemek Czapp provides a brief description of the new signing: “He is characterized by courageous decisions with the ball, a high level of tackling and good pace.”
