According to a report in the “Deichstube”, Werder Bremen is interested in Florian Kastenmeier, whose contract with Fortuna Düsseldorf expires. The reason for the Bundesliga club’s goalkeeper search is said to be that the existing scenario with Mio Backhaus and the Estonian Karl Hein, on loan from FC Arsenal, is probably not a model for the future. As a possible new number two, Bremen, coached by ex-Fortuna coach Daniel Thioune, have the 28-year-old Kastenmeier on the list, with whom initial talks have already been held.
