They have brought the legendary Claudio Ranieri out of retirement, who is known for making the best out of seemingly hopeless situations. But a lot of work awaits him in the Eternal City.
What does this mean for the team? Well, it could bring a turnaround, but for now it remains to be seen how Ranieri intends to solve the “Giallorossi’s” many problems in just a few days.

The question now, of course, is whether Roma will even be able to cope with Napoli’s overwhelming home strength. Although the Romans have often surprised in the past, their away form remains a major problem.
They have not won a game away from home this season, neither in Serie A nor in the Europa League group stage. That casts a big shadow over their chances, especially in a difficult away game like this.
While Roma also have to pay attention to the Europa League game on Thursday, Napoli can concentrate fully on the “Derby del Sole”. That could be the deciding factor, as the home side, unlike their opponents, can give 100%.

For the Giallorossi, on the other hand, Mats Hummels will miss Ranieri’s debut, which represents a significant weakening of the visitors’ already shaky defense.
Conclusion: While Ranieri’s return will certainly provide a morale boost for Roma, you shouldn’t expect miracles from him.
The team has yet to win a competitive match away from home, which is a serious problem, especially against a strong opponent like Napoli.
What’s more, there is still a big question mark over Paulo Dybala’s fitness. Without him, Roma lack the necessary quality to penetrate the opposition’s defense.
SSC are also a force at home and, in view of Roma’s weakness away from home and the confirmed absence of Hummels, I rate the chances of a clear win for the home side without conceding a goal as extremely high.
