Kevin Kunz leaves MSV Duisburg and generally stops playing higher-class soccer. The 32-year-old came to Meiderich as the starting goalkeeper from Carl Zeiss Jena in the summer, but did not play in the regional league there. However, four games in the national cup are listed. Kunz explained in a statement: “I have decided to end my career as a professional footballer because a new professional door has opened for me that I don’t want to close with a view to my private future and my responsibility to my family.” Chris Schmoldt, sporting director at MSV, emphasized: “Kevin has presented himself as an absolute professional during his time here and approached us with the desire for change.”
