Champions League, Wednesday, 27.11.2024 at 18:45
It’s different, very different from what we know! The fifth matchday of the preliminary round is coming up in our Champions League tips, time for two German clubs to jump into the top 24.
One of them has big plans in my Red Star VfB Stuttgart betting tip on Wednesday.
The Swabians don’t play consistently enough and their players lack experience on the big stage. Today’s opponent from Serbia? They have no points at all! I would therefore like to tell you why I have chosen the bet “Under 3.5 goals” for this match
To back up this bet, a few facts are needed, after all, Red Star is one of the shooting galleries of the premier class and VfB also manages anything but often to end games with a clean sheet.
The Red Star Belgrade VfB Stuttgart odds have of course been carefully selected by the bookmakers. The visitors from Germany are seen so clearly ahead that the average odds are 1.75 to 4.35 – no wonder with the home side in second-last place.
On the other hand, it’s not as if VfB are brimming with self-confidence. We can therefore expect a very exciting game in which both sides agree: A point will get us nothing!
The bookmakers’ prediction
For our bookmakers, there aren’t really any reasons to back the Red Star. And so I’m not surprised that the Serbs are once again the underdogs on Wednesday, with the odds reaching 4.35.
VfB Stuttgart are playing away from home and are not exactly in top form. Nevertheless, it is enough to be clearly ahead in Belgrade. The odds for the Swabians are an average of 1.75.
A draw would not help either team. Since Stuttgart likes to share the points in the Bundesliga, we should not rule out this result, the odds for this reach 3.85.
KI prediction Red Star Belgrade vs VfB Stuttgart: ChatGPT
For each Champions League match, the AI creates three new predictions at our request. According to ChatGPT, three bets between Red Star and VfB Stuttgart are also particularly suitable.
If you want to place a high-risk tip, you should bet on an away win with over 3.5 goals. I might still be on board with “tip 2”, but I don’t see a spectacle – VfB simply scores too rarely for me.
At medium risk, Stuttgart would prevail with a handicap of 0:1. Realistic? Yes and no! I’m actually a bit skeptical here. Yes, Belgrade can lose big, but I don’t think VfB are that confident and would probably go for a very narrow win.
The low-risk bet says that VfB will score the first goal of the game. Due to the fact that Red Star have never taken the lead in the CL, I’m signing here
Analysis: Red Star Belgrade vs VfB Stuttgart
VfB Stuttgart are finally back in the Champions League after so many years and then they have to face the challenge of suddenly playing in a completely different mode!
Gone are the days when each club was drawn into a group with three opponents and the best two progressed directly. VfB currently occupy 27th place, which, with 36 participants, quickly shows that things could be better.
The Swabians lost 3-1 to Real Madrid at the start of the competition, even though they were absolutely equal and had the great misfortune that the Whites struck late on.
The German runners-up were unable to really redeem themselves in the subsequent 1:1 draw against Sparta Prague, and it was only the 1:0 win against Juventus Turin that brought joy. The joy did not last long, as the 2-0 defeat to Atalanta Bergamo put an end to the good mood.
Ratings analysis
I saw Belgrade as very brave in the first few games, but mostly with a collapse after the break. So perhaps the “double chance 1X” bet after 45 minutes, which has odds of 1.60, is suitable here.
At the same time, I can well imagine that little will happen in the first half. Betano therefore offers the bet that there will be more goals in the second half. The odds: A good 1.90 and also the chance to benefit from the Betano bonus.
If I had to decide on a result bet, I would probably set a 2:1 for the Swabians. If you want to take this risk, you can look forward to odds of 8.50.
Red Star Belgrade vs. VfB Stuttgart: Will the game get going late?
So how do I rate the results? 0:0, 1:1, 0:0, 0:0 – the first thing I notice is that there is not much on offer before the change of ends. Automatically, you could now use two betting options on Wednesday.
If it’s a draw against Zagreb after the first 45 minutes, odds of 2.30 would be waiting. If no goals have been scored yet, the odds would be 3.25. Stuttgart’s defense in particular is something to be criticized.
They conceded half of their goals in the final minutes of the game, but this is how they were able to collect their only win against Juventus Turin, even in stoppage time.
Stuttgart need more offensive power
With three goals from four games, the attack is obviously not satisfied. Red Star, Slovan Bratislava and Young Boys Bern? With all due respect to each individual club, but against these three opponents the offense MUST fire!
Of course, it’s not a good thing that Deniz Undav will be out injured until the end of the year. Jamie Leweling has also not yet returned to the team after his injury.
Stuttgart struggled relatively badly in the Bundesliga last weekend, coming away with an unimpressive 2-0 win against VfL Bochum – a result they would gratefully accept on Wednesday.
For the Red Star, the primary concern is probably not to finish last. The Serbs also appear to be completely out of their depth in the new mode, have not a single point to their name and have already conceded 16 goals.
After a narrow 2-1 draw against Benfica Lisbon in the opener, they first lost 4-0 at Inter Milan and then 5-1 against Monaco. Of course, FC Barcelona were also a size too big, losing 2:5.
In the last three games, Belgrade (twice 1:2, once 0:1) were very close after the first 45 minutes, but in the second half the individual quality of the opponent prevailed each time.
The team fights, has also scored in three out of four games, but the weaknesses in defense nullify any offensive effort. The fact that Belgrade are rushing from victory to victory in the domestic league should be somewhat negligible.
The national competition is not really strong, VfB is on a different level. Incidentally, Red Star have already played against 13 German clubs, but their first clash is against Stuttgart.
My Red Star Belgrade VfB Stuttgart tip:
VfB Stuttgart have by no means given up on their dream of reaching the knockout rounds of the Champions League! Everything is still possible for the Swabians, the next three opponents sound relatively easy and must therefore be beaten.
The offense is having a relatively hard time, so the Red Star is actually just what they need. However, I can well imagine that VfB will need something to step up a gear on Wednesday – the two goals against Bochum were also hard-fought.
That’s why I’ve also decided to stay away from a big spectacle. Belgrade AND Stuttgart only really concede a lot after the change of ends, so it doesn’t have to be the same in a direct duel. In any case, my tip is:
At three goals it’s over!
